Stacks on my 6.2?
I am thinking about putting 5in stacks on my 93 and i am curious how loud it will be and what kind of drone i will get. Drone doesn't bother me to badly considering i run my car though the summer with open headers but can't hear anything else. Anyway will it rattle the neighbor's windows or are they quieter ?

It's a snappy bark that'll be not just rattling the neighbors windows but the neighbors for a long ways! When I had true dual straight pipes, you could hear my truck for 3 miles!

Don't do it! Leave the stacks to the wanna be big rig cummins guys. The only application for stacks are real big rigs or race trucks that out of necessity need to get the smoke up and away while at the track.
You have a good looking truck. Don't ruin it with a pair of disgusting stacks.

I didnt have stacks but I had a 5 inch Redneckmaster Exhaust and with the N/A 6.2 it was too loud. it actually had a rap to it. Once I put the turbo on now it is a nice hearty rumble.

If you are dead set on stacks(I wouldn't do it) try and fit a muffler in there somewhere. Straight piped 6.2 true duel 2.5 pipe is louder then hell and has a hell of a crack to it when you mash the go pedal. I got bitched at by the neighbors for mine.. Even with glasspacks and 3.5in tips its to loud! I've been looking for quieter mufflers.

I had my '87 straight piped 2 1/4" dumped just ahead of rear axle....it was loud!!! Didn't realize how loud til I put on flow masters, then it sounded good til it came to an abrupt stop with 2 holes in the pan. It's a donor now...
