6.2 Woes

Hi all, finally purchased my 91 6.2 J Code, issues so far: block heater sounds like its working but still cold, gauges don't work and the alternator not charging

Old School Oil Burners (Old SOBs) Member

read the link, I started playing around with the gauges and noticed that the Gauge Fuse keeps blowing once the key is turned for glowplugs, so once 12V hits the fuse it blows!

What do you guys think the issue behind it could be?

Only time I had fuses blow immediately was when pulling a haunted boat trailer with bad grounds. That was a fun trip, had to stick over sized fuses in just to get home in the dark.

Gauge Fuse keeps blowing

Forgot to mention, I pulled out the actual gauge cluster (I have the RPM Gauge Panel) and grounded the Cab to the battery made no difference, fuse still blew

I have several GM shop books, I will look and see what I can find and post it up....

The rpm's come from the alt, unplug all wires from it and try another fuze while I look for a diagram...
