I have recently replaced an injector pump on my truck and when the engine warms up the accelerator sticks and theengine races.
History: I was having trouble with the engine dying and not starting. Replacing the pump solved that problem.
Is there an electronic throttle control? What could possibly cause this problem?
Also could be the sensor for the high idle and cold advance, I had sorta the same problem.
Truck was wigging out revving be itself and erratic, I unhooked the wires to the high idle solenoid and advance, and it cleared up.
Double checked the sensor was working by unhooking the wires to it and noticed the idle would change. It should go off at 100 degrees water temp.
The sensor is on the right rear cylinder head.
Yea it's odd how that causes the erratic behavior, when it happen to me I was like what the hell is going on.
Revving up, dieing no throttle response, I thought I was driving a 6.5 with a bad pmd
