Do you have a/c? I have a 84 k20 with just the alt and power steering belt on it.
Could get a pic if you want.

I have one belt for the power steering and one for the alt.
The power steering belt goes on first then the alt.

Be careful where you get your belts. I went through 3 alternator belts from different places before I finally got the correct one. One was so long it barely fit, and it worked for some time but eventually started slipping and melting.

I have had the least trouble out of Dayco belts. Other swear by gator back belts. Sucks when the rear belt comes off and takes the other two with it. Mike

My alt belt came off and got itself all shredded up in the hub of the fan, luckily it didn't take out the p/s belt.
