How do they govern these things?
As the turbos said the RPM is governed...somewhwere around 4000rpm, which is weird because the ad says that the max speed in D (1:1 since it's TH400) is 55mph/88kmh. I just did an RPM calculator and @ 55mph with 3.08s (the blazer CUCVs had 3.08's correct) and I assumed a 31" tire RPM would be more like 1900, so in theory you should be able to bury the needle in one of those Blazers.

If the gearing had been changed all the way up to 4.56 and kept the 31" tires it would still have 1000 rpm more before it hit governed max, so i don't quite know what that guy is talking about

I know with both my trucks and 4 different engines I've been able to bury the needle with each one. Th400 and 4.10s

needle burying and engine swapping...... hmmmm...

i think probably the injection pumps are governed lower than civilian, around 32-3400rpm, so they had some longevity with the "drive it like you stole it" policy....

I think the blazers came with 3.73's or 4.10's for the military. I know a lot of the Civi ones came in 3.08's
