It's not a "reset" style system. if the light is on your have a problem. The light will go away when the problem is solved. On my blazer the light is there strictly to tell you when there's an imbalancer of pressure betweent the front and rear systems. Examples would be air in the system(air compresses resulting in differences in pressure), no fluid, etc.

I can't remember is the GMT400's had a seperate light for the RWAL. Is it the red "BRAKE" lamp or a yellow "ABS/ANTI-LOCK etc" lamp? Unhooking the battery for a few minutes will clear the code & light is it's an RWAL issue. If it returns, the RWAL system is faulty. I have the codes if you need them.

Disconnecting the switch on the valve will make it go out but that's not the way to do it. No gray areas on brakes. Fix them properly!

The proportioning/isolation valve could be stuck as it thinks there's a leak in one half of the brake system isolating it so you still have some braking capability. This can be fixed by re-bleeding the brakes, in sequence from LF, RF, LR & RR. As a bonus, you can flush out all the old nasty fluid if not done already.

Lastly, I've had those chintzy Ebrake switches stick on. Try unplugging that to see if the light goes out.

i had the light on a '84 gasser after i did the brakes and just in an open area do several hard stops. accelerate to like 20 and slam on the brakes. after several times. (took like 5 for the '84) the proporationing valve went back to normal postion and the light went out.

The BRAKE light serves double duty. And no need to unhook the battery if you want to clear the anti-lock computer: Just pull the STOP/HAZARD fuse (ignition off) for 10 seconds, then reinstall.
If a code resets in the anti-lock the BRAKE lamp will re-light. Then you would have to jumper pins A and H on the data connector at the bottom of the dash in order to read the code.
The good thing is, if it all worked prior to the brake job, it's most likely the pressure switch as stated by other posters above. The anti-lock system doesn't have any sensors or parts at the wheels themselves; it's all up there by the master cylinder. Disconnect the pressure switch first. Light goes out? Nothing wrong in anti-lock system.
