I've seen a suburban with a 6.2 and a granny 4speed. Course the axle gears were 2.73 though..

Welcome to the forum!

Lots of pickup trucks with 6.2 diesels came with manual transmissions. There were a couple of transmissions that were put in them. They had the four speed with a granny gear, which is an SM465. There was also a four speed with overdrive. There are also many transmissions that can be bolted right up to the 6.2 in trucks that came with an automatic. For example, I retrofitted my truck with a five speed manual. The most common aftermarket manual (and probably the most durable) is the NV4500.

Trucks with manual transmissions aren't all that hard to find. They are a little more difficult to find than truck with an automatic, but not really "hard to find".

Now a Suburban or Blazer with a manual is hard to find. I have never seen one and did not believe they made one until I was corrected by others here on the forum... They are very, very rare, but they did make them.

Hope this helps!

GM never put the 6.2/manual combo in any Blazer, only trucks and Burbans.

You can use the NV4500's that came behind the later 6.5's too. Dodge versions of the NV4500 (more common) can be used too. The Dodge version's input shaft is 1" longer than the GM's and the bolt pattern is different.. Advance Adapter makes an adapter plate that is 1" thick and allows it to be bolted to the GM bellhousing.

The only trucks that gm put a manual behind the 6.2 was the pickup. Blazers and Suburbans were only offered with auto's behind the 6.2. There are a few Blazers and Suburban diesels running around that have manual transmissions but someone other than gm put them in. I personally installed a few and they were easy swaps due to the fact that the gasoline counter parts were offered with the manual tranny.

well if you think about how the 6.2 is kinda rare in itself because very few people wanted a diesel when they were new. and most trucks are auto or at least around here. so it seems that most diesels i see that have manual trans are a work truck.
mine is an odot truck
