Getting parts for a 2007.5
I just picked up a 2007.5 LMM, wondering what kind of luck other guys have had getting stuff from parts stores for half year trucks? Seems like the LMMs chassis wise are the same as the LBZs, but what about ordering sensors and other miscellaneous things? I know sometimes half year trucks, or years where there was a new body style and a classic body style can be an A$$ ache. So should i just call this thing an 08 for the parts stores or what?

I've never had any problems. The '07.5 is mechanically the same as the '08. IIRC it was originally slated to be an '08 and production got moved up by a few months. Pretty sure that most parts for the '07.5, '08, '09 & '10 are the same, making for an ample supply of parts. There should be no reason why any parts are hard to find as there is not much (if any) parts unique to the '07.5. All they do is cross reference the numbers.

When I've gotten parts, I usually tell them that it's a NBS and not a classic. If I forget, they usually ask if it's a classic, so it must be coded in their parts lists already.

You would think, but i have had issues in the past with other vehicles.

I ran into a minor issue with mine when I changed my rear diff fluid. I decided I wanted to take the cover plate off and have a look see inside so purchased a new gasket. Long story short it was the wrong shape and size, and I tried to rotate it all around backwards and forwards to make sure I wasnt losing it. When I brought it back they could not find one with the correct shape for my truck in the parts books they had. The nearest dealer is an hour away through crappy traffic plus I had already taken the cover off.
I ended up using a can of "the right stuff" nearly crapped myself a the price of that stuff though but it worked like a charm. I also learned my lesson too... Use the drain plug, or make sure I have a very good gasket scraper... mike

For future reference, just clean both surfaces up and use RTV/Silicone. Im guess im just a little gun shy about this half model year because i had a 2000 silverado 2500 non HD, which i guess is alot more of a mutt than a half year LMM.
