You should start with a new fuel filter-- always advise to carry a new one just in case. Did you pump the primer button to see if it will run-?
I always cut the old ones open-- to check for water, dirt or other.

My only experience is with the LB7. Does the other generations have the issue with the fuel lines from the filter head getting old and collapsing or letting air come in?

Thanks for the help. Especially to So Cal Mike who did his best to get me back on the road. I got the issue resolved. The problem was a fuel supply line collapsing on itself when engine was running. The vehicle would turn on but, once the engine was running it would cut off after 5-20seconds. If I waited long enough to allow the lines to clear themselves of negative pressure the truck would turn on again then die, again 5-20seconds later. The line is located between frame and transmission on the driver side. It's a 90* flex hose that's under vacuum. There is another location where this can happen and that's the supply lines near the firewall on the driver side. There is a PIP4526 concerning this issue. GM's fix is a specific hose number made by Parker. Mechanic said power steering hose can be used since it's not under pressure. Since it would void my warranty is I went that route I opted to keep my warranty and have then do it right. Contacted GM and since it's under warranty they flipped the bill for towing, rental, and everything else including lodging and meals
. Thanks again for all the help and I hope this helps some folks that are having a similar issue.
