Wheel well liner removal.

I need to replace the fuel filter on my 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500HD DuraMax LMM. Access is via the front wheel well. How do you remove the plastic retaining fasteners holding the wheel well liner.?. I don't want to damage them.

pull the middle part out until it hits its stop. The pull the hole fastener out. Often the middle part comes all the way out, don't worry if that happens, simply remove the remaining part and then put the middle back in.

To re-install you will push the fastener in with the middle extended. Once it bottoms out, push the middle part in which will lock it.

there are some 7mm screws you have to take out, and one 10mm screw, and then the little black clips.

appreciate the advice

Thanks for the tips on removing the fasteners on the wheel well liner. I now recall these types of fasteners. This will be my first time changing out the fuel filter on my Silverado (2 yrs. old but only 8000 miles). Myke

if you break or lose any of those black push clips , your local bodyshops has them by the hundreds -- or a automotive supply store .

a screw driver works good enough to pull out the center tab of the clip -- but a real clip popping tool is cheap , but , many varieties of them. the 2 made by MATCO tools are the best, like the one paul mentioned with the link above.
