remote start

Seeing the thread about the truck shutting off after starting. Sometimes my truck does this when using the remote start but never when starting manually. It doesn't do it all the time just sometimes. It did it before I did the mods so I don't think that has anything to do with it. Anyone have any answers!!!!

There is some internal remote programming that might set defferent limits on run time. You might check on line for install program manuals on your specific remote, most all use the same internal electronic chips in the remotes.

If you have a engine light upon start up the truck will only run for a few seconds and then turn off. Its a safety feature. That is if you have a factory command start.

remote start

Ya it just starts up and runs for like 5 seconds and then shuts off. When I turn my key on, the check engine light comes on when all the other lights go away, but then after the truck starts, the check engine light goes away. It has done this for a long time, and there are no codes so I figure its nothin!!

How About Using The Remote Start When It Is Really Cold In The Winter? Will The Glow Plug Still Work? Just Bought My Truck Yesterday, So I Am Unfamiliar With Diesels...

My truck has the factory remote start....so does that mean it uses the glow plug to start when it is cold?
