Wait to start

Just got a 2008 6.6 Duramax and was reading the diesel manual, said to wait for the wait to start light to go out b4 it gets started, but I havent seen it since i got the thing is there a problem. Do I need to take it to the dealer or is there a fix I can do myself.

I don't even see it after it has sat all night. So if you live in a warm climate you wont even see it

It typically won't come on in a climate above 65-70 degrees, and if it does, we are talkin 1 second give or take. I'm one state above ya here, but keep my truck in the garage. I rarely if ever see the light come on in the garage (which stays at the above mentioned tempurature) but if i leave it outside (anything below that) it does come on for about 2 seconds +/-

The glow plug symbol is little squigly lines - maybe you don't know what to look for....

No problems. I never have seen mine either. On my other LMM, the one I put PPE and a turbo-back on, I found the glow-plug light would come on for a couple of secs.

had mine for about 24,000 miles and have never seen the wait to start light. i normally start with the remote start so i never see it. i have even started it after sitting out side all night in 40 degree weather and didnt see it
