Hard starting and loping

Having some issues with my truck guys. Went out yesterday morning to start it and it turned over quite a few times more then it usually does. I figured it was just becuase I didn't let the glow plugs stay on long enough. Once it warmed up I noticed a slight lope to it. Went to pull out of the driveway and it fell onits face. Like it bogged down and I didn't have any pedal. I coasted for a few feet and then it picked back up. Then its done that same thing twice today. It's only when you're first taking off and then it acts fine(in 1st gear). I crawled under it earlier with it running just to look and noticed that my lift pump isn't working and it was hazing a little. Do you think it could be fuel filter or injectors? Why would the lift pump affect that?

As I understand it, if is an impeller type pump, when it quits it will create a massive restriction in the fuel line. I think alot of people pipe in a bypass just for this reason.

If it is a centrifugal pump, it won't be affected.

I believe the Airdog is a impeller type.

*2 on the restriction, just try pumping your primer bulb with the pump off. Acts like its starving for fuel so I would suspect that is the problem.

Ok. Thanks guys. I'll try that. It will be the second lift pump in 6 months. It didn't do this the last time it went out.

Yea, I'm not happy with them right now. It will actually be the third one in a year. I called today and was suppose to get a call back and never did. Gonna call first thing in the morning.

The AD is a flow through design, however how fresh are you fuel filters? If you have partially restricted filters, there is going to be more suction required should the AD go down. Have you checked for power going to the AD, or do you know for a fact that it is the motor? If there is no power, I have seen some issues with the relay going bad. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions on it.
