The mileage has a lot to do with that, I'm sure.
![]() Although it's a testament to the reliability of the Duramax/GM platform, I'm not sure I'd buy it nonetheless. Simple logic says that it's had a lot of life taken out of it that can't ever be put back in. I've driven class 8 equipment with that sort of mileage (and well beyond), and the reality is that you can see, hear, and feel the fact that they're long in the tooth. Although I'd be interested to drive this truck to see exactly how it looks and feels, I suspect the same would hold true.

I feel better about the deal i got on my truck. Bought it for 8600 and put 3000 into it for headgaskets, only has 170,000 miles.
Its awesome seeing a truck live that long, shows the duramax longevity, but i sure wouldnt buy it for that much. It would nickel and dime you to death.

It would be a great transplant donor. Pull motor, trans, harness, ECM, TCM and the rear axle and part the rest out. Should be able to sell what remains for a good chunk of money...

I noticed that as well. The pictures where it's Parked in the gravel pit type place are *clearly* photoshopped - the background is identical in all pics and the shadows and reflections don't match.
One might wonder how much else of the actual truck is shopped in the pics as a result.

Since it's a VIN code D it's an LBZ that was made after 01 Jan 2006. That means the owner averaged over 280 miles every day for almost 7 years. 717,000 miles is epic longevity for a light truck (and encouraging since my LBZ just hit 57,000 miles). With such a record of reliability it's probably good for at least another 100,000 miles, in which case it's a steal at the asking price. I'd be interested to hear the experience of whoever buys it.

Post up the VIN in this thread - if the new owner ever googles it this thread will be at the top of the list. It would be interesting, agreed.
