White Smoke, Low Oil Pressure between 0 and 30, Turbo not wanting to kick in
I was up in Mammoth this weekend and made the mistake of getting on the throttle while the engine was still cold. I guess you could say i was stomping on the throttle pretty hard. After blowing a black cloud for about 50 yards i backed off. I then noticed that my idle was rougher than anything i have ever felt before. The truck has been blowing out white smoke from the exhaust since. Today did the five hour drive home after tuning back to a stock tune. the white smoke from the tailpipe has not gone away. My oil pressure stayed at about 30 until the last half hour of my drive where it started dropping all the way down to 0 when coming to a stop. Also it felt like the turbo would not really kick in when i floored the truck. the turbo will spool and i can get it to hold boost at about 20 psi ........
What could be the problem???? Please help? D-

X2 sounds like head gaskets, check your coolant level and oil.

The oil pressure is what would scare me.Hope you didnt spin a bearing.Would definitely park it till you figure out the oil pressure issue.

0 oil pressure is very ugly usually. 30 is also too low if you were going highway speeds. Should have been about 40. Zero oil pressure would have that engine knocking away like something silly and I have seen oil pressure switches just go. I'm hoping for you that you have something electrical wrong.

I thought about the headgasket, certainly sounds like it, but he gave no other symptoms such as coolant loss. Seems as if that would be apparent even after a short time?

Could be head gasket, but it doesn't really explain the low oil pressure. I guess it MAY be possible for enough coolant to mix in with the oil and thin it out...but you'd think there'd be more than 0psi at a light!!! Does the idiot light come on when it's idling too? Any signs of milkshake on the dipstick, or oil in the coolant tank??
