Does anyone run a 180 vs the stock 195 in the 6.0L. Think that might help mileage (simliar to the 8.1) or is the thermostat change in the 8.1L just for the oil consumption?
in the 8.1 the stat change helped the oil consumption. In a 6.0 I know a 160 will kill your gas milage dead unless it's tuned for it, it's right on the border of the temp that it's looking for to run closed loop (reading from the MAF & O2s). when running open loop it's running richer because it's trying to get up to temp to start running closed loop...Make any sense?????
180* should be fine, you may not even notice it too much on the gauge. the 160 didn't make a big diff on the gauge but made noticeably less heat under the hood.
