Cool! I wonder if it will spread. I imagine Chrysler is the guinea pig. Others will follow if it is a big hit. Imagine the possibilities. Tahoe, Suburban, 1500 Silverado all with a diesel option.

It's a lot of money for an engine designed for towing...wrapped in a truck that's not.
I see this leading to idiots towing 15-20K trailers with their half tons...because "it's got a diesel, it can tow anything!!!?!1!!" Syndrome.

Its not a Cummins, so there goes their biggest selling point.
Hopefully they do a better job with this diesel than the previous ones.

It's about time. We have needed small diesel trucks and SUV's for a long time. The market for such a vehicle is wide open.

95 GMC Yukon 2 door 6.5 TD 4L80E, 3:73 Ratio. 286/75/16 tires. "F" intake. EGR delete. Stock "F" Prom. Pmd In the bumper. #9 resistor. 3" DP, 2.25" Crossover. 3" exhaust Daul bypass cooling system. S&B air intake system. According to the tire guy it has a lift on it. I tend to doubt it. |

He bought it anyways, and true to form it's spent more time in the shop than on the road - injector issues, blown turbo, and now apparently camshaft failure which may or may not (presuming it's an interference engine?) took the valvetrain and heads with it - the thing is in parts at the shop now.
