67-72 Chevy trucks

I grew up loving these trucks and it started the 1st time I saw the USA-1 monster truck and then my Dad got one when I was 11. Well I've worked on just about everything on mine and between that and studying LMC parts books I consider myself perty edumakated on them. The thing is it was out of pure luck I found this site (and now think it's the greatest thing) and want to talk to others about the old trucks like we talk about DMAX's. Where do I go??? Is there a site out there even close to the quality of DP???

Questions I can't find answers to...

1) What kind of axle do I have in the rear? It has 10 bolts in the back, but comes apart in the front like a ferd 9 inch...and it's about as big as a 14 bolt at the center chunk. I rebuilt the brakes, but no one has other replacement parts for a rebuild and no posi units available.

2) Has anyone else ever owned/seen one of these trucks w/ a factory "throttle"? Mine is just below the wiper knob and I have misplaced the throttle emblem that goes on the dash. I've seen 1 other on a 68 2WD.

Oh,my favorite topic. The rear end is an Eaton. 14bolt disc break conversions fit perfect . They don't have posi's,they are Detroit Lockers . I have two. One in my 67' and one in my brothers 67'. I will buy everyone I can find for a decent price cause they are getting harder to find. LMC has lots of parts but they are not precesion fit parts . Yeah some have the factory throttle some don't. My brothers did but now it has a CTD in it . as far as sites 67-72chevytrucks.com is a great source of info. I'm 1967K30 over there. Not over there a lot anymore but need to get back more. Any more questions feel free to ask. I've had every bolt there is on the truck out on mine

i love these older rigs. keep them going. notice how people come over to look see . now i observe on brand new pickups they will look see but after five years or so nothing to see. your older pu will always bring them plus alot of folks that have good stories and times in them. i remember a lawn job in a blue and white 72 two wheeler 350 four barrel i can hear the q-jet roaring now.

I'm almost in tears with joy! I have another place to keep up with on DP!

Hey 6SPD-I found a very interesting web site the other day. Google "garden of speedin." I called about it and they claim that they can find exactly what ever part you're lookin' for in 30 days or your money back. I think I can put them to a good test on finding "Throttle" parts...especially that emblem that goes behind the knob. Anyone I talk to @ LMC or YearOne just scratches their head about that one.

I'll have to check it out . My goal is {someday} to have a 67' K10 Short Box,D-Max/6spd,on 1tons,probably 35"s, and fast . Trouble is I don't currently have the $$$$ to build it and finding a 67' SB 4x4 is very hard. My current 67' is kinda rough and has turned into a rock buggy, that's for sale now .

My former neighbor Benjamin Dzweleski had a '68 with manual
throttle. It was blue and had cab lights... that was about 1974.
IIRC my father's 1970 C50 had manual throttle. It was quite
common for PTO applications. Look for a replacement knob in a
big truck.
