Hard Down Shift while stopping.

What is going on?? While stopping/braking under normal driving the Trans. downshifts hard and throws you forward. Sometimes is sounds like the Trans. is coming apart. It seems like it is slamming into 1st gear. This can't be good. Can any one help? My neck hurts.

Is tow/haul on when this happens, or does it do it all the time?

i get that randomly...

When you are almost stopped, it feels like someone lightly rear ends you, but it wasn't the car behind you.
not in tow/haul mode.. just puttering down the road to a light..
I am guessing sticking valves in the trany.. But I have no clue.. ~21k 07

Re

I have the exact same issue with my 06 LBZ. When stopping rather quickly from 20-30 MPH it feels like the trans slams down and then right before the vehicle comes to a complete stop there is another slam. This cannot be good for the trans. This happens when not in tow haul mode just driving around normally. I had a dealer check this out and no help. It is not able to be replicated, about 20K on my rig. I wish someone had a solution for this I am sure something is being worn or stressed.

Same Thing

I have a 03, and i just installed the bully dog shift kit. About a week or so my truck started to throw itself into first HARD while slowing to a stop. The problem seems to stop once the tranny gets warm. I dont know if it has something to do with the shift kit, or just another issue. Trying to sell the truck, would really appriciate some help, thanks!

The trans. will shift hard in either mode. Coming up to stop sign under normal driving it will almost throw you into the dash if you are not wearing your seatbelt. It does not do it all the time though. Sometimes when the drive-train is cold and other times when you have been driving on the highway for an hour or so. I spoke with the dealer and they could not reproduce the symptoms. They recommend just disconnecting the batteries and reset the computer. The dealer was pretty hard on it too. I watched them drive off and slam on the brakes at the first light. Man they activated the anti-locks in the process. I won't do that again. Yes they got an ear full too later.

Mine does the same thing, I don't get thrown into the dash though. The first time it did it I thought I was hit by the car behind me as well. Like a tap to the bumper. Wierd huh, anyone got any answers?

Mine does the same thing until it warms up. Sometimes it downshifts so hard it'll launch my tea out of its cup (with the lid on). I had read that it was something to do with the older OSes, but I'm running an 04 LB7 OS, so I doubt that's it.
