My buddy has a '93 K2500 6.5TD - 4l80E, and the tranny is whining like a power steering pump does. The fluid level is good, and the fluid looks good. It does it on and off, and the truck sometimes surges while it's doing it. It happens when the tranny is just running temperature, not hot..or at least it shouldn't be. Its does it just driving around, and he very rarely tows. Has anyone experienced this? TIA
I had a front pump go on a TH350 that sounded like that. Hopefully Mike L. or one of the other guru's has come across this before and/or can help you out. Good Luck.
As mentioned, this sounds like front pump noise. This can cause problems if not addressed, and the first thing is to triple check the fluid levels.
