n0 2nd reverse and 3rd...

Good day all,

I have a 1999 Silverado with 5.3l to check.

Transmission only have 1st and D

Unfortunately, my scanner can't communicate with the ECM, so I can't read any potential DTC.
MIL is off.

Any opinion?

Thanks in advance !

What do you mean by 1st and D... does it start in 1st, completely skip 2nd and 3rd, and go right to OD? Failure wise, both mechanical and electrical, nothing stands out as causing this. Meaning if I read down the clutch apply chart, I don't see anything that could break and cause only 1st and 4th.

Don.

Don,

yes, that's what the guy told me. I didn't have the opportunity to road test the truck myself though.
After he swap the rear end, the truck was fine. They drove it for several test and everything was OK.
Shut off, time for a beer, and then when he took the truck to go back home, the problem shown...
