From a legal standpoint, Im not sure what grounds the EPA has to go after H&S? The DPF delete software is clearly sold as an offroad only product, and the end user has to accept several warning messages before the software can be used. It's not H&S fault if people break the law with their products. Are car manufacturers liable when their customers drink and drive or speed excessively? where does it end.....

That doesn't mean selling them is OK. ![]() Yes, far fetched analogy, but I trust you see where I'm coming from. There's lots of things you could use in the same analogy.

I hate to be cynical but they may want it back so they can sell it to someone else at a higher price now that the supply/demand curve is coming into play.

The EPA can go in an request all sales and tickets, and see exactly who they went to. We ran into this issue years ago on the gas side
Of things, and we now keep tabs on the info a lot better. We're a road race team, and we sell a lot of race parts, not just emissions related, but they came into our shop, and saw a pile of cats, and lucky for us, we had good reason to change them, or remove them. (race cars with no vin, and we're not registered) so they didn't cause much trouble to us, but it certainly raised a flag. This was 3-4 years ago. The EPA is a bad bad bad group. They are not elected officials, and they operate much like a ruler of a country. What they do is kill one company, and Make them an example. The other tuners/chip makers get scared, and they rule with an iron fist. It's not good. Our coal burning power plants that are getting shut down are a direct result Of the EPA. The DPF issues? Direct result Of the EPA. Good luck H&S, superchips went through the same stuff years ago. Feel free to Pm me if you want some help from someone who has been right where you are, and knows others who have been where you are. Not fun at all. |

Yessir. It's an extension of the government with zero checks and balances. They are free to roam as is! And it's costing this country valuable resources and clamping down on all of us!
The new vehicles are near the point of producing air that was cleaner then what went into the airfilter!!! In the over-the-road semi trucks, they will not Idle for longe than 5 minutes. When the dpf is full, you have to send it Off to be cleaned/baked! Were from the government! We're here to help! |
