Programmer

What is the best programmer for the LLY? I don't want to tear up my tranny or anything. I would like to be able to adjust for tire size and also be able to diagnose engine, possibly increase fuel mileage.
Thanks

programmers...

Your options are pretty much endless...and everyone is going to have a favorite for any number of reasons. Price is a huge factor also.
Me personally...I've had an edge "hotbox" with attitude monitor that I loved. It improved mileage a little,(when I could keep my foot out of it!) And was definitely capable of chewing up a tranny. Awesome power though. I currently have a bully dog pmt which I like too. Not near the power of my edge, but it will read codes, and I don't have to worry as much about blowing anything up. About 2 MPG on the bully...it helps, but not really why I have it.
I am currently looking at getting a race CST by Edge for my next one...this will definintely wreck things if you are not careful.
Sorry a ltttle long winded...but hope that helps. My edge and bully dog are both for sale if either of those interests you.
Good luck,
Steve

From your comments I assume you don't want a lot of extra hp or torque, just a little boost and something for diagnosis. I had the same needs and found the Predator 2.2 works good and didn't break the bank.

i like my predator, good power, safer in the 40 and 65 hp tunes on tranny, reads codes and cheap. with out a built tranny no need to go buy an expensive programmer that puts out lots of power. 120 is plenty of power with predator.

Also be aware that most (far as I know) rate their H.P. numbers at the flywheel....edge actually rates theres at the rear wheels!
And yes...that's a significant difference!

Take a look at the PPE Economy tuner, it'll do everything you want, and not have more power levels than you need (or your tranny can handle). Here's a link, http://www.alligatorperformance.com/...ax-p-2901.html

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the info. I don't really want to much more power, because I do not want to break things on purpose. I would love the diagnostics and just set my truck up to breathe better. I will first get mouthpiece and exhaust. Thanks again.

Man I hope not, can't afford to tear it up. I use that truck in my construction job.
